Aesthetic Concern

Frown Lines

Frown lines between the brows are often the first concern that brings patients to us — because unlike forehead lines, the "11s" can make you look angry or stressed even when you're not. A small amount of Botox or Dysport produces a transformative result.

What causes it

The corrugator and procerus muscles between the brows contract when you concentrate, squint, or express frustration. Over time these "11 lines" or glabellar lines become etched into the skin and visible even without making the expression.

Best approaches

Botox and Dysport are the gold standard — and this is one of the first areas the FDA approved neuromodulators to treat. Results appear in 2–7 days and are among the most dramatic of any injectable treatment.

Common questions

FAQ: Frown Lines

Can deep "11s" be fully eliminated?

Dynamic lines (visible only with movement) respond completely. Static lines (visible at rest) improve significantly with neuromodulators and may benefit from a small amount of filler or resurfacing to fully smooth.

Is this the most popular treatment?

The glabella is one of the most commonly treated areas. Patients who treat it consistently often see lines improve significantly over years of treatment.
