Dermaplaning is a physical exfoliation technique that uses a sterile surgical scalpel to gently remove the top layer of dead skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz) from the face. The result is immediately smoother, brighter skin — and a flawless canvas for makeup application.
Benefits of Dermaplaning
- Instant improvement in skin texture and radiance
- Removes peach fuzz that can trap product and shadow the skin
- Enhances penetration of serums and moisturizers
- Creates a flawless base for makeup
- Safe for all skin types including sensitive skin
- No downtime — return to normal activities immediately
Does Hair Grow Back Thicker?
No. This is a common myth. Vellus (fine) hair is biologically different from terminal (coarse) hair. Dermaplaning does not change the hair follicle, and the hair grows back at the same thickness and rate as before. The blunt tip of the regrowth may feel slightly different for 1–2 weeks before tapering naturally.
Dermaplaning + Chemical Peel
Dermaplaning is an excellent preparation for a chemical peel or HydraFacial — the removal of the stratum corneum allows peel solutions and serums to penetrate more deeply for enhanced results.
