CO2 laser resurfacing is the most powerful skin resurfacing treatment available — and at Devenir Aesthetics, it’s delivered with precision under the supervision of Medical Director Dale Schaefer, M.D. The fractional CO2 laser removes layers of damaged skin while simultaneously stimulating deep collagen remodeling, producing dramatic improvements in texture, tone, scarring, and skin laxity.
What CO2 Laser Treats
- Deep lines and wrinkles (including perioral lines and forehead creases)
- Acne scars and post-acne texture
- Surgical and traumatic scars
- Sun damage, brown spots, and uneven pigmentation
- Skin laxity (particularly around the eyes, cheeks, and neck)
- Rough, dull, or crepey skin texture
- Enlarged pores
Fractional vs. Ablative CO2
We use fractional CO2 technology, which treats thousands of microscopic zones in the skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact. This approach delivers powerful results with significantly less downtime than traditional fully ablative CO2 — while still producing the collagen stimulation that makes CO2 the gold standard for resurfacing.
The Treatment Experience
The procedure begins with a thorough cleanse and application of topical numbing cream (and oral sedation if desired). The laser pass takes 30–90 minutes depending on the area. Immediately after, the skin appears red and feels like a moderate sunburn. Over the following days, the skin will bronze, peel, and reveal fresh, new skin beneath.
Recovery Timeline
- Days 1–2: Redness, swelling, warmth — keep skin moist
- Days 3–5: Bronzing and peeling begins — do NOT pick
- Days 5–7: Most peeling complete; pink, fresh skin visible
- Weeks 2–4: Redness fades; results become apparent
- Months 2–6: Continued collagen remodeling improves results
Is One Treatment Enough?
One CO2 session produces meaningful results and for many patients is sufficient for several years. More aggressive concerns (deep scarring, significant laxity) may benefit from a second treatment or a combination approach with RF Microneedling between sessions. We’ll discuss your goals and create a realistic treatment timeline at your consultation.
